“He was receiving threats so he walked alone to work? Yea I’m not buying it.”
My neighbor was making threats against me. He’d bought a gun and shown it to my other neighbors, saying he felt threatened and would “defend” himself. Florida’s castle doctrine was being discussed and the governor had just signed it. The paper said the law would allow people to stalk and kill because they felt threatened, and the law would let them get off. My lawyer mentioned that he’d find out that wasn’t true, but it would be too late for me.
I told this story to mention the reaction of the deputies responding to my neighbor’s constant harassing calls. They each made dismissive body motions and said, “People who threatened you never go through with it.”
I moved forty miles away and my former neighbor continued to follow me home and wait outside my new home...for about six months. Then he refocused his stalking on the man who had bought my home. I had consulted a police psychologist. The Nighbor had constantly upgraded and increased his stalking, and the psychologist said he would, eventually kill me. (I’d won two lawsuits he’d brought, bankrupted the HOA he ran and his level of frustration in the power game was getting was reaching a critical level.) Point again, despite what the psychologist said, the police responded with “treats are meaningless.” The victim here was probably told the same thing.
I once moved over a neighbor.
They were redneck druggie hicks, matter of fact about a year after we left he was sent to prison for 7 years for dealing (constantly cars at night would drive up to their trailer stay 10 min then leave ).
Anyway he stared ogling my then 11 year old and 6 year old daughter’s when the bus woukd drop them off. I thought well I can kill him and maybe go to prison for 30 years, or take my chances and likely get one of my daughters raped
’so I sold and moved…pity it had a fine lake on it.
Wow
