There is more to cleansing the human soul than most Christians understand.
Just as Christian religious beliefs and practices evolved into many diverse denominations, with many diverse practices, so has Hinduism, Buddhism, and all other religions.
At the core is a universal truth that helps you understand the physical soul growth process better.
I was attending a lecture by Thich Nhat Hanh, a famous Buddhist monk many years ago. There was a Methodist minister also in attendance and at the end of a week long retreat, the minister stated, “After all these years at the pulpit teaching Christianity, I can honestly say that I never really understood it until now when I look at Christianity from a Buddhist perspective. “
The two religions are very much the same.
No they aren’t, sure general everyday generics, “be nice to people”, “don’t murder”, but not in the most important parts, the parts that most matter, the parts that God requires and insists on.
What a pantload — looking to a post-WW2 Methodist for any kind of wisdom. Their missionaries and administrative headquarters and then their seminaries were devastated by apostacy starting in the 1920s and reaching the pews in the 1970s. Even the breakaway GMC doesn’t get it, or they wouldn’t be allowing women pastors. Just no.
Sounds like you’re in love with a touchy feely memory you had, as you say, many years ago, under Eastern practices. Have you not evolved since then?
When you first started posting your self-elevating spiritualist pronouncements on FR, you did not sound Christian at all. After many tellings-off by Christians, you now profess His name. How can any of us trust your intentions, when you defend “all other religions” in your post? There is one religion in particular that exists only to destroy Christianity.
