My closest girlfriend was a police detective before she retired and she often said her job was “to serve and protect”. I occasionally teased her by saying the police weren’t there to protect us. They were there to draw the chalk lines around our bodies. I’m glad she has a good sense of humour.
How could that cop not rip off his jacket and throw it around her to help put out the flames? What the heck is the matter with people?
