For all the talk of Trump's narcissism, he doesn't mind having a MUCH richer, and a smarter man (smarter in terms of IQ, not political smarts) in the inner circle. Trump and Musk have at best attenuated social filters, and they can poke fun at each other without causing fallout.

IMHO, evil is hiding, just waiting for chance to take over. I remember as a young person in NC, we had a small group in the YR club until we won the presidency, senate and govenorship. What joy. But first meeting after our win, the size of club doubled. The new ones wanted to be a part of our success and power.
