“I’m well educated...I have a passport...”

The left is gushing about their Hollywood has-been speaking “truth to power” ... and meanwhile Fox News, OAN et al. are airing her screed along with “how dare she?” commentary... BUT I haven’t seen a single person challenge her claim that “80%” of Americans “don’t have a passport.” I looked it up. Fake news. She’s not even close.

The fact that an American doesn't have a passport means nothing. But I am surprised that it's 50%. Until 9/11 an American could enter Canada without a passport...and that's even true today.I did it a couple of times in the 1970s and 1980s.

However,since then the US has required everyone entering the US,even citizens,to have a passport. So unlike before 9/11 if an American wants to visit Canada...or Mexico...he/she needs a passport.

I've never been to Mexico so I don't know how visiting there worked 30 years ago,so an American may,or may not,have needed one back then.

But apart from that we have everything a vacationer needs right here...oceans,the tropics (Florida.Puerto Rico,Hawaii),mountains.... Many people (including intelligent people) didn't feel the need to go to Europe,South America,Asia,etc...
