Ne might croak on that food!

Good morning. I put an extra blanket on the bed last night because the cold wind made the house so drafty. I just couldn’t warm up. I slept until 0200, then turned over and went back to sleep until 0500 when the mattress pad shut off. That was me, cold again. So I got up.

I went to put down Chip’s food and felt a horrendous draft coming in under the back door and decided to put the throw rug up the door a couple of inches. It worked. The kitchen feels much snugger this morning, so I guess I’ll have to get some insulating tape to run across the bottom.

Not much is going on this morning. I’m glad to get that appointment at ENT over with. It stressed me more than I thought it would. Not the OV — the procedure. It was a beautiful day is St George, and yet, going over the ridge each way, we met with incredibly cold wind on the way home, but calm skies on the way in. Which is why they call this place “Hurricane!”

Good morning. Happy Friday Eve!

It’s warming slightly here. It was only down to 24 fs when I walked the Princess this morning.

Tomorrow I’m supposed to be returning a wheelchair we had borrowed from a local organization that loans such stuff to the elderly who need care. Hospice is apparently going to provide one so this one goes back. That is, if Mrs. ArGee can find the paperwork. She’s a bit stressed about that. I’m pretty sure they’ll take the chair back and deal with the lack of paperwork. But we’ll see what tomorrow brings.

Tough Wordle for me this morning. There are lots of words with those two letters in that position. I just had to guess the right one.

Good morning. We’re waiting for the Winter Weather. The county says it’s closing its offices at noon, so I guess the Weather will arrive after that. I’ll take Frank over to his friend’s house around 10:00, and he’ll take extra underwear and a clean shirt in case he gets trapped there by the Weather for longer than expected.

Good Friday Morning!

Well the rains finally came and we ended up 1.32”... not bad for early January around here... One more dreary, cloudy day, and one more sub-freezing night, and then we are in for a bit of a warm up...

I had a good setup from my starter word, and had a decent chance at a 2... but settled for the 3...

Tell Frank to be careful... the Weather can be sneaky, cruel, and unpredictable... he needs to stay on his toes, to outsmart the Weather!

On the way home yesterday, I sent a text to FS, telling him I had just come out of the doctor’s office and that if he would call me when he had a chance I’d tell him all about it.

I had gotten a call earlier from a gal I knew in Dogpatch, who said they were getting the church ready for the General Authorities who were coming for Stake Conference this weekend. She said, in effect, “All these bandaids will look pretty when they’re finished, but they won’t fix the underlying problems.” I don’t know, but that Stake Center still only has two Wards in it, so no growth is happening. No growth means no money coming in, so no repairs being made.

But she also told me they were expecting about 2”-6” of snow! Everyone was making a run on the grocery stores, including the new Aldi, trying to get supplies in for the duration, so FS sent me a photo of his two VWs in the front yard, covered with tarps and with a dusting of about an inch of snow. In The SOUTH! LOL!

We don’t have snow. Even Pine Valley Mountain is barren. Unusual for this time of year, because I usually see it on the way to church and it always looks so beautiful covered in snow. Don’t want to be up there in the freezing temps, but here’s me, loving the sight of snow on the mountain while still wishing winter was over with so I could be warm again!

Anyway, back to the conversation. FS agreed with me that it may be that I’ll just have to give my vocal cords time to heal rather than pay for expensive therapy. He was glad that the prognosis was so good, and that the condition isn’t permanent.

So. FD will call on her lunch break today, so I’ll fill her in on all the pertinent data. As if she cared. I mean, she accepted it for what it was when I first lost my voice, indicating that it wasn’t my fault. No it wasn’t. But FS seemed to think I could do something about it. I can. Give it time! So we’re all good.

Now, I’m going to get dressed! I’ve wasted enough of the day.

Yep! It’s the same storm that FS is getting and I’m hoping that it loses some of its strength by the time it gets to you!

And here we sit with a stuning 27Β°. It should be snowing for all that!!

NOW I’m going to get dressed! Lollygagging ain’t cutting it!

It will be hard to rest your voice if you keep taking phone calls. ;)

Not any more! At one time I thought the frog ate my voice because all I could get out was a whisper, at best. But its improving, now, and at times, my almost-real voice is back! ;o]

I kept thinking of that every time I had to call the bank or a card company about the breech in my SSA#. It’s frustrating as all get out when calls have to be made, and yet, you can’t be heard and have to constantly repeat yourself.

Most days, I only talk to the wisest person present, so the voice gets rested a lot. Yesterday, I used it more than normal because of the person who drove me to St George, the peeps in the doctor’s office, and the two phone calls. But the voice held out much longer than I expected it to!

So I’m encouraged that time is the right way to go!

I’m not looking forward to calling the SSA to enroll in Medicare. I don’t think I’m going to start taking pay until later but I will take the plunge on enrolling.

I had to apply when I was way too young, and the years I made the most money, I was working for the local government, so my SSA money is a pittance. CFIDS changed everything about me, and it took me quite a few years to come to terms with it.

Now, I see it as something I can use to educate people so they don’t all believe it’s “all in my head.” Trust me: With over 65 symptoms, there’s a lot to talk about!
