The easiest thing in the world is to not eat after you get out of bed until you are hungry. For much of my life, I forced down a breakfast not long after getting up because I was always told, “you can’t skip breakfast”.

My body is never hungry until about 10 AM, no matter when I get up. Many years ago I decided I wouldn’t eat for the first time that day until I was actually hungry. Little did I know I was starting a type of intermittent fasting ranging from 14/10 to 16/8 just by my own natural appetite. It’s so funny to see so many people now doing what just happened naturally for me.

That was because of the old regimented work environment. If you skipped breakfast, you wouldn’t have another opportunity to eat until noon lunchtime. And after that you couldn’t eat again until you got home after work, typically around 6.

It’s different when you can eat when you want.
