We have reached a national consensus -— we have not lived in anything resembling the nation that was envisioned by our Founders. That is about to be reversed, dramatically evidenced in 2024’s presidential election when a broad coalition voted overwhelmingly for Donald Trump.

All of these things should have been visible to us prior to the election, but certain things got in the way.

1. Media was relentless in telling us this was a race “too close to call”. They kept quoting what turned out to be obviously fake polls. The worst was the Saturday night Iowa poll (look! Kamala up by three!) I kept thinking, what are they seeing that I’m not? Trump’s rallies, Trump interviews, especially culminating with Joe Rogan (35 million views) and Mcdonald’s and garbage truck capers and a clear and consistent message on immigration, economy and woke (transgender) stuff, gave me a sense of Trump really winning and running away with the race.
2. The constant threat of ballot stuffing and cheating. Could the cheating reach an even higher level than 2020, to again counter Trump’s obvious lead? It turned out, not so much.

So for us conservatives, there was this odd sense of - we really seem to have this election put away, but do we really? Fortunately it was settled on election night and not weeks later.
