Expect the D.C. Administrative State to Defend Itself by Any Means Necessary
American Thinker ^ | 24 Nov, 2024 | William Sullivan

We do not live in anything resembling the nation that was envisioned by our Founders, and for the first time in modern American history, we seem to have reached a consensus in recognizing that fact.

This was just dramatically evidenced in a presidential election, in which a broad coalition of voters from the political left and right voted overwhelmingly for a Donald Trump, who promised to create a “government efficiency commission” to be headed by Elon Musk.

SNIP

Lowi observed, writes Mark Steyn in After America: Get Ready for Armageddon, that the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) were “set up by a Congress that didn’t identify a single policy goal for these agencies and ‘provided no standards whatsoever’ for their conduct.”

“Where do you go to vote out the CPSC or OSHA?” Steyn asks. You can’t, of course, and while that’s obviously the point today, it was apparently less obvious back then. Unelected, unaccountable, faceless bureaucrats have been given multi-billion-dollar budgets by Congress to craft policies that infringe upon even the most mundane aspects of American life.

Steyn recalls that the “end-of-life counseling” language (i.e., death panels, or that maybe you’d be better off “taking a painkiller,” according to Barack Obama) was eventually stripped from 2010’s wildly unpopular Obamacare legislation after it became public knowledge. But that doesn’t really matter, Steyn says, because there are over 1,000 references within the bill to all the things that the Secretary of Health and Human Services “shall” or “may” determine.

It seems that entire agencies will need to be scrapped. I am sure that will create a firestorm in DC. I will get popcorn.

You mean like going so far as starting WWIII today?

Of course they need to be scrapped. But when that was first suggested by Ron Paul years ago he was ridiculed by this board and the whole establishment GOP.

How about that, now we are full circle back to waking up about reality...

You might want to get your family out of there, then.

Today every single poster on this forum that pays taxes is supporting a wide variety of leftist organizations.

The federal government is giving payments and grants to hundreds of these organizations whose goal is to destroy the country while getting rich doing it.

Stopping this stuff is like pulling weeds—dirty, boring, and messy—but it absolutely must be done.

I said back in 2016-17 we could measure the success of the Trump45 Administration by DC area residential real estate falling in value.

Trumps idea to relocate the headquarters of specific departments/agencies to Nebraska and other places is spot on. We also need far fewer public employees. I’m not advocating for hurting anyone economically, but the truth is that so many of us have had the quality of our lives diminished by the government behemoth. It’s time to stop making people in the private sector pay for the inflated wages and benefits of the public sector.

It’s beyond insane that public “servants” are allowed collective bargaining. Cutting the throat of all public sector unions would be a great first step.

The “Establishment” (Deep State) is willing to start WWIII with nuclear weapons to keep its grip on power...they’d really rather rule over ashes than live peaceably within a decent society....one way or another, blood will flow - here’s hoping they bleed out before we do.

Absolutely. Obama/Holder began the scam to fine bankers and Wall Street and funnel the money to left wing organizations. Government funded NGOs are just left wing fronts as well. It will be interesting to watch Trump gut this money machine.

That will also help by watering down the democrat vote bleed over prevalence into areas that do control electoral votes and also help rural areas win back the representation they want. Do not give the swamp state status period, the founders saw this problem and allowed for it, the just did not foresee transportation allowing the rats to spread out.
Virginia is definitely stolen from the people by the fed buy vote election affect.
The dispensation of our money as public assistance in any form need not be dispensed so as to congregate the takers as a voter block. Redistricting or better yet the requirement of what they said that we did not have “standing” should be a voter registration role requirement.
An electoral system by voter precinct would eliminate the steal/late vote catchup counting.
