the problem is that there is no training qualification for a service animal...if the service animals had to pass a training and be registered it would get rid of 90% of the problems. dogs like guid dogs are highly trained and would not have a problem with registering. the worse abusers of using service dogs actually don’t do anything but claim there dog is a service dog. there is no prescription and legally all you can ask is does it perform a service. the whole thing is messed up.
Besides the misuse of the “emotional support animal”, the other thing you’ve got working in the UK is creeping Islamism. Islamics see dogs as unclean and don’t want them around. They’re starting to ban them from parks, etc.
That used to be a problem with Airlines as well but all or most most US Airlines did away with the esa’s. Emotional support animals.
They are also legit for other disabilities such as deafness and seizures. Emotional support dogs, however, are not service dogs and should not be treated as such.
