Friend had an Akita. Wasn’t happy with me until friend told it I was OK.

Subsequent visits - “Hiya Charley how ya doin’?” He would come over and stand up and put his paws on my shoulder while I scratched and rubbed behind his ears. He could look me straight in the eye. I’m six foot.

He’d go back and lay down. He kept an eye on everything. Very Mellow Dog.

When my Mom was a girl she had a black malamute named “Inky”.
Sadly, he got hit by a streetcar in Philadelphia many years before I was born.
From the stories I heard of Inky, he sounded like he was a pretty cool dog.

Having the dogs understand necessary protection is a necessary thing.

It was like a fairytale romance. He and she met at a dog park. They both had the same type of dog and the dogs really enjoyed playing with each other. Soon he and she were in love with one another and one night found themselves together in the other’s apartment. One thing led to another and in the middle of some loud he’in and she’in, the dogs took the commotion as one was attacking the other and needed to be saved. It ended up with the dogs fighting each other and both people.

Injuries were sufficient that we transported one patient who spilled the story.
