Look at all the country music stars in the past that rarely if ever wore a cowboy hat.

A notable exception is Dwight Yoakam. He always wears a cowboy hat to hide his bald head. He looks really goofy without it, but he has a great voice, IMHO.

I figgurd I’d stir up some replies. I’m not bald, but am thin on top. I also don’t have to worry about maintaining a fake image of a cowboy that sings, cuz that ain’t me.

Had to look him up, but it appears that Kenny Chesney is the 90’s and up leader of a fake cowboy that sings. Maybe he rides a horse from time to time. He’s one of many.

Real farm and ranch living has little to do with music. And as a trucker I rarely listen to any music. Music programs people one way or another. I like my mind to absorb whats going on around me, whether at work or just relaxing.

My wife picked out a dress up cowboy hat for me about 14 years ago. My first one. The other were all work cowboy or wide brim hats.

Wearing a cowboy hat indoors is simply a weird feeling for me. Probably started from my mom telling me: “take your hat off, you’re in the house”.
