That’s a great one. It certainly was a departure from their earlier stuff, quite ahead of it’s time, really.

I especially love that line,

“Your progressive hypocrites, hand out their trash, but it was mine in the first place, so I burn it to ash.”

Still have my vinyl album, with its near-mint condition jacket.

I wanted to find the Charisma Label version, but never could find it.

Usually the local Peaches where I bought my records back in the day, had all the other Genesis imports, but not that one.

Phil’s drumming on “Riding The Scree” is fantastic.

Yup, was always a fan of Collins’ drumming with Genesis, solo and that jazz fusion band he formed for a while.

50 years, eh? Hard to believe...

Saw Genesis and Gabriel many times and loved them all...just didn’t see Gabriel play with Genesis but I think I’ve seen all the YT videos that there are available. As a concert, my preference were the Gabriel concerts but yes, I stopped watching and listening once his political inclinations were known.

“ I’ve tried to like this album. Can’t.”

It’s horrible.

“That jazz-fusion band”

Do you mean Brand X? He did some amazing drumming work with them.

He got the writing credit for this piece:

Yup, that was them - I remember buying one of their albums purely because Collins was drumming on it. It introduced me to that genre of music, soon got me into Weather Report, Zawinul and Shorter and the pure magic of Jaco Pastorius on bass. I will always be grateful for that.

Me either, that was before my time. My first concert in my teens was seeing Peter Gabriel play San Jose State for his second or third solo album. Great days, Bill Graham was still holding Day on the Green up in Oakland back then.

Thank you for posting. Fantastic album.

“Selling England By The Pound” is my personal favorite Genesis LP, but “Lamb” is high on the list.
