Murthy, the father-in-law of recent ex-British PM, Rishi Sunak,
Which explains why he’s an ‘ex-British PM’.

God says otherwise. Labor for 6 days and rest on the seventh. Oh, and BTW, you should also use that 7th day to worship your Creator.

I worked 7 days a week for many years. I liked it, but it wasn’t balanced.

Huh? Germans get four weeks of vacation on a 5 day 36-40 hour work week. 9 holidays, too.
. I used to work long hours and weekends when I had my own businesses, but I sure as hell wouldn’t put in those hours to make someone else rich.

Murthy...says young people should look to post WW2 Japan and Germany, where determined, disciplined, and hardworking youngsters rebuilt the nations. Hard to argue with that. A strong work ethic is the same thing that built America.

Bezos prefers the term ‘work life harmony’ over work life balance.

God says otherwise. Labor for 6 days and rest on the seventh. Oh, and BTW, you should also use that 7th day to worship your Creator. That sounds what he is advocating (though he doesn't mention devoting the seventh day to worship of God):
"He pointed to the 1986 swap from a 6-day standard work week, to the now standard 5 days as a disappointment."
Until fairly recently, even people in developed Western countries had a six-day workweek. The two-day weekend is a relatively recent innovation brought about, for the most part, by labor unions.

I have a friend who works for Infosys here in Indianapolis. She works remotely, and works hard, but I can honestly say most of the people on her project don’t give a sh*t about their jobs or Infosys. So maybe his message isn’t filtering down to the plebes.

I’m all for the working/life balance. Laziness no work leads to poverty bondage. Too much work is a bondage too.

Oh, and the company doesn’t reward her for her efforts because honestly, she not an Indian guy or to a lesser extent an Indian woman. She a blue-eyed, blonde haired, white girl and they don’t get much love from Indian managers.

It’s really more because she doesn’t have leverage. Leverage allows you to leave and get more money if needed. Management knows that.
Working more hours doesn’t always make you more productive. Many times, it covers up incompetence.

Exactly. About those 14-hour days, 6 days a week for his entire career, ask Mrs. Murthy and all the Murthy children how they felt about it.
