Axios ^ | 11/15/24 | Stef W. Kight

Next year's outlandish confirmation fights could thrust incoming Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-S.D.) between his Republican conference and his president

Why it matters: Thune can afford to lose three Senate GOP votes on Trump nominees. But at least six Senate Republicans, depending on the specific nominee, could be in line to blockade President-elect Trump

Susan Collins can afford to be obstinate. Maine will never get rid of her and Maine will never vote for a Republican President.

One question I'll be asking though is how many Democrat Senators do we have in States that Trump won? How many will be up for re-election in '26?

Murkowski might be in trouble as well now that Alaska has ditched their ranked voting system.

We'll be up +1 in Georgia as long as we do not nominate somebody named Herschel Walker.

Maine splits its electoral votes.

Maine’s 2nd Congressional district, which covers 80% of the state, went for Donald Trump in 2016, 2020 and 2024 by wide margins each time, giving him one electoral vote in each of those elections.

CD-1, in southeast Maine, is moonbat central. Their electoral vote went to CommieLa.

The winner of the statewide popular vote received two more electoral votes, and that was Harris because of the number of votes cast in CD-1 for her, and because of some of the coastal areas in CD-2.

I hope Collins gets primaried in 2026. Even though Collins voted for most of Trump’s judicial picks and his tax cuts during his first term, most Republicans in Maine are fed up with this broad and won’t vote for her.

FiveThirtyEight data shows that Murkowski voted in line with Trump 72.6 percent of the time (2017-2021), and that she has so far voted in like with Joe Biden 69 percent of the time (2021-2024).

How often Collins votes in line with Biden’s position 67.2%*.

*No data on Trump years.

What pisses me off is that twenty Republicans voted to confirm Merrick Garland, aka Meritless Garbage.

Whadya mean RINO? You ran for head clown. This is your circus and they are your monkeys. There are plenty of ways to punish all of them. But you are a deepstate RINO and make your fortune off of making sure you screw over the taxpayers.

Don't tell us how tough your job is. You wanted it. Just do it and stop whining to those you made promises to that you don't want to keep.

Olympia Snowe has been out of office for many years.

I once met her in a supermarket in 2010 and had a 20-minute conversation with her.

I regard all of Trump’s picks as capable.

Hegseth and Gaetz have image issues. If they are not confirmed, other people can be found.

2013, you're right. So since then, Mitt Romney took her place as the "moderate" Senator. But he's retiring. So now it's just Lisa Murkowski. Others are RINOs but they're politicians. And they want to get reelected
