They eat cats because it's a tradition.

When dealing with Haitians, this is an important start point: Haiti has a culture like no other on earth.

If an animal is raised as a pet, Haitians will not eat it because, at this point, the animal is seen as part of the family...Most Haitians do not have a human-like relationship with their pets.

There is some wiggle room in there...and it says nothing about respecting other people's pets.

Shouldn’t we try to get word out to Springfield, Ohio and other places that have a larger Haitian population to bring their cats in a week or two before Christmas?
