Either Byron or Lara would be an outstanding choice for Governor DeSantis to make. Both are TRUE MAGA WARRIORS. The only downside with Byron is how much he’s needed in the razor thin Republican majority in the House. He also has been one of the few to keep the Republican caucus from drifting off to the left.
Byron probably will end up appointed to Trump’s executive. I’m certain Florida’s governor will have plenty to promote from the state house etc. Their residents know how deep their bench is.
