The answer lies in understanding why they hate Trump, or why they are RINO’s.
It goes beyond liberal values. It is usually self interest such as greed or lust for power and their loyalty is to those that grease their hand.
For most, it is either the military industry or big pharma.
Shining a bit of light on them creates transparency and reveals where their real loyalty lies.
That, and they are afraid that their sins might find them out with pres Trump at the helm
