Watch the video, in the end it discusses the recount.

When a race is decided by .5% of less, in PA recounts are automatic.

The remaining votes to be counted no matter who they go for will not put this race over .5%, therefor the law is triggered an a recount must be performed.

Yes, ballots aren’t votes, and if you watched the video, you’d see a provisional ballot is not a vote, and is not counted unless it is determined that the person who cast that ballot, and that ballot itself should be counted.

There is far more scrutiny that a provisional ballot has to go through to determine it should be counted, than a voter walking into a polling place in PA on election day that votes normally.

Lets say you know your cousin isn’t going to vote on election day in PA, you can go to his polling place, claim to be him, and as long as no poll worker actually knows who you or your cousin are working the polls that day, as long as you can reasonably forge his signature, you can cast a vote for your cousin through the normal process, because the poll workers are not likely to challenge you are who you say you are, because PA does not have a requirement that voter ID be shown every time you vote.

A provisional ballot on the other hand, the ballot is going to face more scrutiny. You could cast a provisional ballot claiming to be your cousin, and it MIGHT get through the review to determine if the ballot should count, but it receives more review than you personally claiming to be someone else and appearing at the polls and voting in person.

Watch the video.

Fraud can happen in any system, but if your goal is to pump up your vote totals, and generate votes, particularly after the fact, provisionals are probably the least likely way you would go about attempting to do it.

My 18yr old son had to vote provisional because they sent him a mail-in ballot but he went on election day instead. I’ve checked and they have not processed his yet. We’ll see. This is SOP for those f’ing rats.

Had your son brought his mail in ballot with him to the polling place on election day, he could have surrendered it and voted normally.

PA IMHO stupidly went to mail in voting in 2020.. the number of provisional ballots we have to do every election now is way more than it used to be, simply because of people like your son, who request a mail in ballot, and then show up on election day to vote in person but don’t bring their mail in ballot with them to surrender.

I think in the 4-6 years prior to 2020 our district maybe did 1 or 2 maybe provisional ballots, total through all elections. Since then, its probably been in the 10 range every election. Now my polling place is small maybe 350 total voters on the rolls. So a provisional ballot isn’t the end of the world, but a busy polling place that has thousands or tens of thousands of voters voting, 3% needing to do provisional adds up to a lot of provisional votes and time spent dealing with them over a day.

Believe me, no one at the polling place is jumping for joy at having to do a provisional ballot, we’d much rather have you vote normally.

He didn’t request a mail-in ballot, they just sent it to him because he registered this year. We had no idea that he would need to take it in.

“As far as I know to date only lawyer involvement is around a dispute over 400 ballots.”

So... do you think these lawyers are on retainer or working pro bono? I venture to think the lawyers were contracted to be there by the hour at somewhere around 250+ bucks an hour and would be inclined to drag it out as long as they can and as long as the gravy train keeps rolling.
