iirc the constitutional amendment that limits the president’s time in office says “two CONSECUTIVE terms’, not ‘two terms’. if this is true, (and someone will correct me if i mispoke,) doesn’t that enable trump to run for reelection in 2028?

No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once.

Two terms or two years + one term. No more. It does not prevent him from running as JD Vance's Veep, and assuming office when JD resigns immediately afterwards. Might be tricky because in order to elected VEEP you need to be eligible to be president.
