The use today of the term cringe by men and for men is such a large indicator of the times
I’m 67 in two days
Until maybe Gen Y the use of the word cringe was by women or to describe women or feminine men

Now it’s a very used word by both sexes

Not by me obviously

I would say I’m embarrassed for them more than say it’s cringe to me

Cringe indicates a non masculine in my opinion reaction to something awkward or off putting

Language morphs and men are for sure less hard as a rule

Physical faces are softer on men

Less brow and facial bones distinction

Lower T at younger ages

I blame plastics honestly and conditioning by the rise of the woman in the home and culture of course

Just observing from here

I also notice cringe is often the word used to describe reaction to someone saying something socially insensitive

“Women are better off being moms”

Cringe meter spikes per writer

Interesting post in several ways. I hadn’t thought about it, but cringe is definitely more of a word a woman would use.
Happy early birthday!!!
