likely the sweeteners in chewing tobacco
Though it's likely gas-lighting on a few that always chewing it.
Can't imagine what it would do to the teeth with sweeteners always between your teeth.

Learned recently fructose is a kynurenine 3-monooxygenase inhibitor. Without kynurenine you can't brake down Tryptophan which is the pathway for NF-κB and niacin. NF-κB heals cells prevents cancer. Along with keeping you mentally sane

The whole evolutionary purpose of fructose in mammalian physiology is kind of a synergistic combo. That sugar essentially flags “turn me into fat” for winter. The plant producers get better dispersal from being foraged/consumed and the mammal builds fat for winter operations or hibernation. The sugar not only just turns to fat, it manifests craving too.

With demonization of dietary fats The food industry got a grand slam in switching to sugar to retain “savory” in foods. Added bonus’, high fructose corn syrup comes along, performs that task AND you don’t feel sated shortly after consumption. And it, or regular sucrose, is in practically EVERYTHING. 4 out of 5 doctors can really milk something like that (hat tip to old Johnny Hart/BC!)
