I haven’t seen that movie either, but now I want to. I saw Desperately Seeking Susan when I was in high school and desperately wanted to go to college in New York City. (Parents said hell no.) Good thing that didn’t happen! Honestly, I was more into the Goth scene with The Cure, Echo, Siouxsie, The Smiths, etc. I ended up at art school around the time The Pixies and Nirvana were going. I fit in there much better than the NY punk scene.
