Telework for Gooberment emps should be abolished. Forever.
Some of them are working other jobs while supposedly “working from home”. Fed employee we knew went to another state to visit relatives while they were supposed to be “teleworking” took a gov. laptop with them to read emails, so Okay!
Would also bump into them at stores and malls during the workday. All a bunch of thieves!
I knew this was a bad idea from the get go.
This sounds like an accountability problem first and foremost. THAT's what needs to be fixed. If they go into an office and still have no accountability their drain on the system will be worse. Now they're using government real estate, bandwidth, paper products, coffee, cleaning services, waste services, water, plant services, etc. There's a lot of overhead in office spaces.<
Maybe a deeper problem is there are budgets to hire people (cuz we print munnie don'tchaknow) and there's really nothing for them to do. That meme with Elon and Vivek asking "what is it that you do here" is spot on. I think the bulk of these employees simply do not have enough to do to be held accountable for. Musk axed upwards of 80% of the workforce at Twitter, and it's better than ever. He fired all the people that had no accountability.
