Blew my knee out again, snapped my driver shaft, ended the season @ 16.2
Lost my club champion flight semi-final match...grrr.
Hope you had a decent season.
Good job, Stylin! We could play a match scratch. I’ve gone up from a 6 to a 12 handicap in 7 years and I’m surprisingly unstressed about it. I know where the range is but I haven’t been there in 7 years and I’m loving the game more than ever.
To be completely serious, every time I have a bad shot, I imagine some poor child somewhere on Earth being abused by an adult and I’m ashamed that I contemplated for even a split second that what I’m doing out on the golf course is even the tiniest bit important. It isn’t at all, and it’s brought me back to a profound enjoyment of the game that I haven’t had since I started playing and was a 36 handicap. A relaxed mind allows me to swing better/freely and just enjoy the walk and hear nature around me. If I practiced, I could probably be an 8 handicap, but I’m helping (with you and everyone here) to save the world instead 😊
I meant to congratulate you on your wonderful achievement. Very well done! I know you had been enjoying the game less with your troubles, and I hope this has changed that for you. Imagine the abused and helpless children. Somehow, it changes our focus to outward, and trivial pursuits don’t seem as important. Oddly, in golf, it makes the game more fun and, in some cases, easier, if you can get to that place in your mind.
