Just wanted to share a health issue I had recently, and wanted to give you a heads up, so that it doesn’t happen to YOU!
Recently, I had some blood work done that came out wonky-
The first one (for yearly physical) came back showing my thyroid was in overdrive.
It showed hyperthyroidism.
They ordered some more tests-and those came back fine!?
I did some sleuthing, and this is what I found.
It was a supplement I was taking for Hair, skin and nails,
and THAT was the culprit!
The first blood test was taken while I was still taking that supplement.
The second blood test was done after I had been off them for awhile.
Turns out that large doses of BIOTIN, which is the main ingredient in that supplement, can give you a false-positive thyroid test!
It could lead through you getting treatment for something you do not have!

Stop taking these supplements 3 to 5 days before your blood tests!
Since they are water soluble, it should clear your blood work so it comes out fine,
and it’s a good reminder to tell your Doc about any supplements you may be taking!
