Well, I am very late to the party on saving bacon fat. Mother always discarded it, and I was puzzled by the fact that the mother of a friend saved hers.
I also have bacon fat in the fridge now and use it frequently. But I just learned about this within the last 10 years or so.
Apologies for the bacon slide, CHinC, but I hope it’s part of helping one another learn.....

Initially, it appeared that the Brunson filings were exercises in futility and had no legs at all. But the recent requirement to sign a NDA made my ears perk up. If true, I'd say it's big. NDAs aren't required without a reason.

Growing up my mother always saved bacon fat in a tin can — my mother told me it used to be saved and recycled for the WWII effort by bringing the containers to the butcher shop. I really do not remember her actually USING the bacon fat. Back then we didn’t have plastic bags for the trash (we used brown bags from the grocery store and newspapers to wrap large things) so I think having the fat solidify helped with its disposal.
Now time for some humor:
My parents had a ‘Bloopers’ record from the 50’s...one of the tracks was from the WWII era — a radio announcer stated emphatically:
Ladies - take take your fat cans down to the corner butcher!

Definitely remember the brown grocery store bags for kitchen trash and wrapping up wet stuff like coffee grounds in newspaper. Thanks for the memory.
Also, no plastic laundry basket. Mother used a bushel basket, for which she was able to buy a liner, but I don’t remember what it was made from. Oil cloth?

This makes me wonder if their removal will cause them to self-organize into a completely lawless band of spooks/mercenaries ready to hire themselves out to the highest bidder. Some people only know how to do one thing. I may have an overactive imagination about what CIA types really do, but where do you work if spying, fomenting suspicion and creating chaos are all you know how to do?
Being a foreign soldier here in America during these times will be the fastest way to die ever.
🙂 Whatever will be will be... the times that we live in. What I was referring to is the Pentagon using some of these invading 'military-aged men' as special forces to challenge the American people without patriotism or conscience.
Let's face it: this administration has committed treason over and over. The GOP doesn't seem to mind. Now Joe Bitem is putting us into a war with no public involvement whatsoever.
As I keep posting wherever I can post: The GOP House MUST IMPEACH Joe Bitem immediately for intentionally getting us into a war through the back door! Adding selling his office for years for personal gain wouldn't be out of order either.
As disjointed as the Pentagon is, they are connected enough to see a recruitment of non-Americans as a force to use against the people of this nation. Such a plan would result in an overwhelming response and the fastest ‘commitment to justice being done’ timeline in history as well. Your assessment of the military may be applicable to some leaders and a few troops but is way off base for the majority. The people that will fight and die for overseas ‘national’ objectives will be all the more responsive to a domestic threat.
