Truer than you may realize. For many years now I have come to view our government as being under the control of a crime syndicate. Obama was my first clue.
He was a major character in the Chicago racket, and he pulled some of that organized crime sh*t to get the Illinois Senate position. I said at the time that those Chicago Mafia tactics wouldn't work in DC, because everybody is watching you there, and you won't be able to get away with it.
When he got away with it, I realized DC had embraced one of it's own. Then I realized the Clinton's got away with their sleazy corruption too, and that's when it dawned on me our capitol city is run by a sort of Mafia. Mainly a collection of special interests who profit from their control of the government.
I call it the "Government/Industrial complex." It's like the "Military/Industrial complex", but applying to all aspects of government/private corporation collusion.

Of ALLLLLL the huge list of clinton scandals and corruption, I think the key to them was the “FBI papers”.
They had the goods on a lot of important people and were able to manipulate their way into control over entire agencies, and like a game of chess, used the agencies and people they could control to get leverage over the rest of them.
Everyone though Bush Sr. was powerful because he was a connected/establishment YaleSKull&Bones former CIA chief, but he was a choir boy in terms of corruption. There may have been corruption and power grabbing ‘military industrial complex’ in the cold war, but while people got rich and powerful, the over-arching mission of making America safe still trumped everything else.
Clinton(s) masterminded the first true self-serving reorganization of DC power, and Obama perfected it.
The key to the whole this is the DOJ and to a lesser degree the FBI.
There are no checks and balances to account for them.
You can prosecute anyone you want (those who don’t cooperate) even if they don’t commit real crimes, and even more importantly, you can protect (not prosecute) people who commit high crimes repeatedly.
But if you control DC, you still can’t control the entire populace, UNLESS you maintain the illusion of representative democracy. Rudy touched on the touchiest part of their system of control. Elections.
