Well I don’t know. The trust is gone for me. It was how he campaigned in the primary, the DS talking points he spouted (one was about funding Ukraine), the big pocket guys who actually funded his campaign and the GOP elites he cozied up to in order to get that funding.

And where I’m at in the state I’m not alone in this lack of trust. I can see him successfully rehabbing his image, running for higher office, getting elected and then governing like the Deep State Bush wing of your party. So no, he may be a great Gov, but the trust for higher office is gone.

Guess we will agree to disagree on this one. No hard feelings!

None here either - 2028 is a long time from now and a lot can happen. DeSantis ran a terrible primary campaign this year and he needs to show he can run a real campaign for the presidency. He also needs to convince all conservatives that he won't be a return to business as usual for the GOP. Vance can also be the clear front-runner in 2028 if he builds on his excellent debate performance with real actions as the VP.
