I was born and raised in Rochester, NY. Been voting since I turned 21 in 1968. I'll believe it when I see it. NY State consists of a majority of red counties, yet the State Legislature is controlled by RATS by a more than 2-1 ratio. I won't hold out for any changes in the State Legislature.
Claudia Tenney was my Congresswoman until they divided her district, and the GOP candidate for the new district was Brandon Williams. I voted for him in 2022, but wasn't planning on voting for him in 2024, because he repeatedly voted to send unaccounted-for taxpayer dollars to Ukraine. Lo! and behold, for some reason, they did more re-districting this year, and I've now ended up with Elise Stefanik as my Congresswoman. She's against sending more money to Ukraine, but she also voted to keep FISA intact. Despite that, I will be voting for her this time around.
I have no idea what the GOP is doing with the districts in the State. Nobody should have three different Congressional Reps in 4 years.

It is not the GOP. The state has been mitigating the boundaries since 2021.
