Take Leon DiCaprio and other private jet setting libs. They like to claim they are planting trees to counteract the CO2 emissions from their private jets. Leon etc will contract out with a tree planting NGO (undoubtedly with outlandishly high executive salaries) to plant trees in Africa or Timbuktu or whatever.
So good enough for Leon and his libby Hollywood crowd to buy their Global Warming indulgences, then good enough for DJT and Republicans.

Jet CO2 emissions linger in the atmosphere for hundreds of years.
Power plant CO2 emissions get largely removed from the atmosphere within days.
The (amount of CO2) TIMES (the time it lingers in the atmosphere) is what matters (about a tenth of what the greenies think it does).
