We’ve got two couples who are close friends. They are putative “Republicans,” but they HATE Trump with a white hot passion. For the life of me and my wife, we cannot understand their hatred. To keep our friendship, we put politics out-of-bounds and I’ve not asked them where their hatred bubbles up from.
They are all intelligent and highly successful professionals. But they have zero idea how the Revolutionary Communist Democrat Party plans to turn the USA into the USSA. Their impaired logical thinking is very odd.

My opinion is that you are making a mistake. I do NOT need friends like that. I would drop them in a heartbeat.
I have friends - even family - who hate Trump.
They ask me how I could vote for such a bad man.
I tell them it’s because I listen to his speeches and I like what I hear - then I ask the. If they have ever in the last nine years listened to one of his speeches in its entirety.. the answer: no.
They listen to sound bites of Trump, cherry-picked and edited by the fake news to make him look evil, stupid or deranged.
That’s the problem - they have no idea who Trump really is.

Do they hire everything done? I see this a lot in people that can't actually do anything concrete, but have secured a nice juicy position in the Grift.
"intelligent and highly successful" is a relative term. Look at all the congresscritters who go to Congress poor and return home wealthy. It may be more of a measure of well-hidden sociopathy in many cases.
