Hurricane Helene Aftermath
Requested by FReeper: who knows what evil?
A "clearing house" for any and all things Helene...videos, testimonies, places to donate if you so wish, and so forth..it would be WORTH losing my house and all my possessions to provide a forum for victims to "talk turkey" from The Zone.
Prayers for you, FRiend. Glad you and your wife are safe.

I find these direct testimonials far superior to the 2nd-hand rumors that are being retransmitted:
Videographer goes into Chimney Rock, NC, near Lake Lure.

Useful video about state of Red Hill/Green Mountain NC (North of Ashville)

This video has a treasure trove of useful information regarding Hurricane Helene relief. It chronicles a group trying to get relief supplies from TN to affected areas in NC. I found it useful and uplifting.

Yes, the video I posted is first hand.
I didn’t mean to imply otherwise. I’m just noting in general, there is a huge “fog of war” that allows for false narratives to get amplified, if we are not careful and responsible.
Very true.

Yes, Mark Hunneycutt’s videos are the best around. He HIKED into Chimney Rock where there literally is no road anymore.
His videos need to be seen by DJT, who can act like a president and call for increased use of the military and National Guard, since neither of our so-called presidents are up to the task.

Stash of donations ‘taken away’ today in Erwin, TN...my wife had been called by a friend and told that “if you still needed clothes, to come and get it.” So we jumped in our car, and off to Erwin. Too late...everything was GONE! This was a high school that been loaded to the ceiling with donations from East Tennessee to the people of Erwin. What happened? Some say it went to Goodwill, and knowing them, they’ll resell those items in their stores. Others say trucks took the items to Bristol Raceway, roughly fifty miles to the north, AWAY from the Flood Zone AND the people of Erwin.. WTF??? Why not leave the items with local churches?
It’s a Stephen King movie here in Appalachia, folks.
What is a local church we can send things to?
Working on it...as a side note, I opened a box lunch from Erwin shelter, and this was inside: a 4 x 6 index card with a handwritten message:
Father, Hear our prayer for mercy and hope over the life of Your child. Give them what they need to endure this devastation. Bring them comfort that can only come from You. Send your angel army to surround them and help them to never feel alone. In Your Name, AMEN!
I suspect these were put together by the young ladies helping at the shelter
All done...items can be sent here:

Very efficient, very caring, very helpful...most other churches, as well.
Do they accept gently used clothing, towels, etc...how about dishes, etc? Suggestions for priorities?
