Yup, the stats on Spotify alone are eye opening, then there are the other services as you mentioned. For example, Queen songs have had billions of streams on just Spotify (that’s billions, not millions) and a big majority of Queen’s listeners are under 35. This is why you see music catalogs being snapped up even for older artists.
The Beatles, Stones, Who, Pink Floyd, etc. are the Mozarts, Beethovens, Bachs, of classic rock.
Years from now that’s what people will be listening to. Just as no one cares about modern works of classical music, nobody will care about new rock music.
