“Band of Brothers”

That’s all.

Definitely “Band of Brothers”, especially Episode 9 “Why We Fight”. No combat, but great television.

Chernobyl is the only one I’d ever re-watch. The rest I’ve seen a few youtube clips. Watching ugly people doing ugly things isn’t my cup of tea to say the least

The mayor’s solo speeches were very Shakespearean.

OZ is the daddy of modern drama. And a great introduction to an all star cast. JK Simmons (Schillinger) and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Adebisi) were astounding.

Every big hitter show from Sopranos to Game of Thrones owes a massive debt to Oz.

And, the theme music is awesome.

Re “The Black Mirror:”

I’ve watched some here and there, but my favorite is the one called “The Black House.” Some truly twisted sci-fi in that one!

re: True Detective I watched and enjoyed every season of True Detective. Kamala speak..... It was well done, acted, and written. None of the seasons were vanilla pap, they had a vision and stuck with it. It was a masterclass in building of characters, and melding them into storylines. LOVED IT, to say the least. It was much better than the Sopranos, which was a slog to get through.

Exactly, Chernobyl is why I pay for the MAX app.

Deadwood? It is just a practice set for black culture. HOW TO CURSE 101-102 and Master class. Too much cursing, and I doubt the people of that time cursed in that manner. It was pap mixed with bile and feces.

Boardwalk Empire was an A+, Sopranos was a C-, the equivalent of Happy Days. If you were there when it came out, you watched and enjoyed it, until Fonzie actually jumped the Shark. Sopranos was not immersive, and the characters were very similar. I watched front to back in the course of about 3 weeks. It is not “all that”, unless you mean something besides good.

I think of The Sopranos more as a dark comedy.

After seeing the episode were the firefighter were getting interviewed I resolved that if we were ever attacked with nuclear weapons I want it to land dead on me. What a horrible way to go.
