Something very, very funny is happening in the flat earth community. It's common knowledge that so many flat earth priests have explicitly stated that a 24 hour sun in Antarctica in December would crush the flat earth, and that it never happens. But suspiciously, nobody is allowed down there to see for themselves, what with the government NASA Jew penguins guarding it. Of course that's idiotic, anybody can go to Antarctica anytime. It's just expensive, which is why none of those idiots have ever bothered to take a heroic trip down south to prove the pizza land. But a hero has emerged! Will Duffy is conducting "The Final Experiment" in which he will pay for flat earthers (and flat earth debunkers) to go to Antarctica this December to observe the 24 hour sun! Or lack thereof, were the flerfies to be correct. Will the flat earthers take him up on this generous offer? A fully funded trip that they've all said many times they're just dying to take? Is the community splitting in half, with flat earthers turning on each other for even considering this evil demon-filled offer? I promise you that all of this is so much funnier than you can imagine. We're through being cool
We're through being cool
Eliminate the ninnies and the twits
Going to bang some heads
Going to beat some butts
Time to show those evil spuds what's what
If you live in a small town
You might meet a dozen or two
Young alien types who step out
And dare to declare
We're through being cool
We're through being cool
Spank the pank who tries to drive you nuts
Time to clean some house
Be a man or a mouse
Waste those who make it tough to get around
If you live in a big place
Many factions underground
Chase down Mister Hinky Dink
So no trace can be found
If you live in a big place
Many factions underground
Chase down Mister Hinky Dink
So no trace can be found
We're through being cool
We're through being cool
Eliminate the ninnies and the twits
Put the tape on erase
Rearrange a face
We always liked Picasso anyway

One of the all-time great live TV performances.
DEVO - Uncontrollable Urge (Fridays)

Thanks! They were a schtick band, but it was great how they pulled from the synth robot pop that was going on and the punk / “new wave” stuff, both of which were around and quite separate during my misspent college years into my misspent early ‘80s, a send up approach that reminds me more of Zappa than anything contemporary to Devo. :^)
