There are so many conservatives areas that sound peaceful and wonderful! I haven’t abandoned the idea of keeping my home in Canada for proximity to my family and travelling back and forth between that and a small place somewhere else. I would prefer to stay in Canada but I can’t get past this feeling of needing to escape after the mask mandates and lockdowns of 2020, the freezing of bank accounts in 2021, and then the exclusion of the unvaccinated from society. Canada became a dangerous place very quickly, without notice, and without a lot of initial pushback. The galvanization of the population around the truckers was a turning point in the oppressive policies that went largely unchallenged, and I’d like to think that we’re smarter now and it couldn’t happen so easily again, but I think it’s unwise to cling to that. That’s why I have to leave and try to find a home in an area where people believe in and will fight for freedom.

Can you purchase a darling little condo as a second home in Erie? That way you can easily travel back and forth.
I remember you were pretty upbeat during the trucker’s convoy. But you certainly have seen stuff change fast. It’s a bit of a long shot but you might see some more changes for the better if we can elect Trump again. We’ll know soon so keep your powder dry. Trump has a way of jerking foreign heads around to a better place. But if you do move south be sure to bring your blinky stompy light shoes ‘cause we have at least a bazillion long haul truckers who will give you the fog horns at their sight.
