You’ve both reassured me. I worry about Orlando too, a frequent destination with dozens of very good courses within a 30 minute drive. I’m concerned less for me than for the state’s citizens who depend on all of the tourism to keep taxes and prices low and the infrastructure strong.
Florida can take A LOT of rain. It just runs through the sand.
It’ll be OK for Florida. This isn’t their first rodeo. They usually get a couple of hurricanes a year. This one is on the stronger side, but it’s not going to ruin the state.
I was visiting my parents in the early 2000s, in Central Florida and had the pleasure of experiencing Hurricane Jeanne move across the state. It wasn’t a high category storm, might have been a 2 initially, dropped to a 1 while it was passing us, but it was like an all day storm with wind and rain, nonstop, for hours.
