Gavin Newsom Bans California From Requiring ID to Vote
California Governor Gavin Newsom has signed legislation that prevents local governments from requiring voters to present identification at the polls, a law aimed at curbing conservative efforts in cities like Huntington Beach.
The new law is a response to Huntington Beach’s controversial voter ID requirement, which was passed by the city’s residents in March. In April, California Attorney General Rob Bonta and Secretary of State Shirley Weber sued Huntington Beach to invalidate the law, arguing the local measure violated state voting protections.
At the risk of sounding like a black piller, I think I just read that Newscum just signed a law that makes it a crime to question the results of an election in California. That means they can cheat all they want and anyone questioning it will be arrested, charged and probably convicted.

I’m reasonably certain that I received the article in the last 2-4 days in a news email (Epoch Times, Be Reasonable, Lifesite News, Rebel News, and some one-offs). I’ve scoured my trash bin and can’t find the article or analysis of Newsome’s three new laws banning voter ID and adopting other measures to “safeguard” elections. I know he stated that his goal is to prevent the spread of mis- and dis-information, remove deceptive content from large online platforms, increase accountability, and better inform voters. “Mis/disinformation” and “deceptive content” are very broad terms, and the concern is that voicing doubts about the validity of election results will fall under these new laws. One judge has already stated that parts of the laws will likely be found to violate the First Amendment, so at least there’s that.
That’s my best memory of the story. In light of my inability to find the exact article, I’ll withdraw my original post so I can go to bed. I’m sure it will turn up again. Apologies to all.
