Yikes. The Carolinas were receiving deep scrutiny from me as a potential place to settle. Knowing the feds can and will “bowerfazzle” with the weather to achieve their own malicious goals means we’re not particularly safe anywhere. It’s a new horror to me that there seems to be no authority that can force FEMA or any other federal office/official to do their job or get out out of the way of people who will do their job for them. I would happily join a volunteer reconstruction team to completely rebuild those towns so the people can return to their lands.
