Same thing use to happen to me all the time. I don’t know if I should tell this story as it’s really depressing....In the 1990s I use to work for Poland Spring water in their warehouse which was located in Greenpoint Brooklyn in a really seedy industrial area, the corner of Kingsland ave and Greenpoint ave right near a canal that would every so often have a body floating in it.
Well anyway, in this area people use to dump their pets - New York city, you know, the city that votes 90% democrat. Well I use to wait for the bus on Greenpoint avenue and all the time white waiting, one kitten would run to me, they would send out one to see if I was safe. And once the other kittens saw I was OK, they would all come out.
Probably the worst was one night it was absolutely freezing, one of the coldest nights ever waiting for the bus and all these kittens came out from under the fence screaming and the bus driver wouldn’t let me take even one on the bus. That job was horrible, and it wasn’t just kittens, it would be puppies, old dogs, people would just dump them like trash. That’s DEMOCRATS for you! No use for the unborn and no use for animals.
Another thing: When the Covid lockdown was going on, there was this mass adoption that went on for dogs and cats. When it was over, there was a mass return. The bastards all returned them to the shelters.
I grew up in NYC, but to me it will always be the a-hole capital of the world.
I thought that was San Francisco.
