A report today indicated the meeting of Nasrallah et al was held specifically because phones and other electronics were monitored.
It had to be human intelligence. Totally infiltrated by spies and ratted on by locals.
The plan, in hindsight, was pretty smart.
First they blew up their pagers and radios.
That forced them to meet face to face to communicate and plan. All Israel had to do was wait until the leadership was seen gathering. They knew exactly where and when. And they had the right bombs ready for that moment knowing it was going to be in an underground bunker.

We can only hope that there was puh-lenty of "collateral damage" (i.e., deaths of other terrorists). None of this "surgical sh*t!"

Israel obviously has spies, working for them, on the ground looking like every other terrorist or innocent civilian, who obtain intel and report back to Israeli intelligence through secret channels.
Because their focus was on Hezbollah and Iran. They thought that Hamas was under control, with bribes from Qatar, etc. and that Hamas served a useful purpose in countering the influence of the PA.
Hezbollah was seen as a much greater threat, and that’s where they directed the bulk of their intelligence resources.
