store-bought lard is partially hydrogenated AND loaded with preservatives ... nasty stuff ...

far healthier to use home-made beef tallow: chop up beef fat in food processor, render in crockpot, and freeze small portions ... even in the fridge it’ll mold and go bad fairly quickly due to lack of preservatives ...
