I agree. Chains do stretch, but they last a LOT longer than belts.

Timing belts should have never been introduced. I agree. Timing chains almost never broke or wore out. Which is the way it should be.

Some are easier to change than others, but if the engine (chain for timing) is serviced properly, they are usually not as reliable. Most timing belts are run dry, I believe.
