Yeah, I'm so dimwitted that I'm ignoring treaties, tenets of Mutually Assured Destruction, tracking nuclear energy particles, codification of laws restricting location and use of ICBMs, satellite defense systems, etc. all with the intent of protecting civilians.
Let's just throw out rules of engagement when expedient. /sarc
There is absolutely no way to even pretend to avoid civilian casualties when discussing nuclear weapons. Any attempt to do so is subterfuge of the worst kind.
And as far as civilian casualties go in this instance there have so far been few if any. Hezbolla makes a practice of hiding among civilians so any damage done is on them, not Israel. A grown up would understand that.
From what I’ve read about this event Israel has managed to render over 3,000 terrorists combat ineffective including several senior leaders. If any civilians were injured or killed that, while regrettable, is going to happen in war. They weren’t deliberately targeted.
Also Israel has managed to collect a treasure trove of intelligence with this move. These savages are now permanently scarred making later identification possible. Hezbolla will now have to completely revamp their command and control systems.
Now would be the time for the IDF to move in and flush the rest of the rats out of the nest and kill them.
