It may be hemangiosarcoma. It’s a fairly common cancer of the spleen in dogs, and it’s a bad one. I lost mine to it about a year ago. He was almost 16. Not much can be done. Spleen removal buys a little time but not that much.

You might find this research paper of use. Treating it with turkey tail mushroom extract may buy a little more time. You might ask your vet about it.

Lost his sister to that nearly two years ago. Unfortunately the only way to know for sure is to remove it. Genetics are against him. Removing will by him anywhere from one to three months. I already started a carb free diet with I M Yunity the turkey tail mushroom powder. Medium rare meat mixed with beef liver, turkey tail a Vitamin B12. If it is the spleen and it is hemangiosarcoma I will continue that diet and only go with Predisone to slow the spread. I should not have listen to the vet in April and June. Both said we can do x-rays and ultrasound but we were looking at nearly a $1k in tests. Probably would not have appeared on x-Ray in April. Had we caught it in June not sure much would change as the cancer always spreads as micro tumors. To a puppy his age a month or two is a longer time than to a small dog or cat. Despite the Vet thinking this is a tumor outside the spleen, I have my doubts about him and his knowledge. My prayer is that he is correct and it is a more treatable mass cell tumor or it is benign. But as I said genetics are against him.
