I will keep my eye out for these that you’ve suggested, I think I’d like to try every rum, were that possible. Hey, maybe I can be one of those people who has a crazy bucket list. Instead of wondering how many different birds I can see in my lifetime, maybe I can see how many different rums I can try.
Instead of beer flights, I would use rum flights.

Oh, yeah, have I said how much I love pretty much any Plantation rum? I’ve never had a bad one. I have a Fiji from them, and it’s a lot of fun with a rum punch recipe.

Granny’s potion gives any rum a run for its money.

Repeating my post from the gin soaked column:
I have read the best rum is not sold in the U.S. it is Tortuga rum and I have always wanted to try it since reading that.
Anyone try that?

I know it's now supposed to be considered garbage because it got bought by a big conglomerate, but Zaya was a good sipper.
It was the first one I drank by itself with just ice and no pineapple juice, etc. and it was smooth and tasty.
I tried to find rums recommended to me by YouTube channels, but the only ones I could find on the shelf were supposedly trash or in the locked cabinet with ridiculous price tags.

"the best way to not get me to drink a specific spirit is to tell me I’m supposed to drink it on a specific day."
I'll drink when I'm goddamned ready!...You got that?

Flor de Cana 12 or 18 year old. Only $34-$50 for 750ml.
The 4 and 7 year old are also good every day mixers.

Saint James rum from Martinique is superb!
"Vieux Rhum / Agricole / Saint James / Le Rhum Aussi A Son Grand Nom / Plantations Saint-James Martinique / Depuis 1765"
There are at least 15 rum distilleries on the island, promoted as "the rum capital of the world" to attract tourists.
Brought some back from there in 1992. Worth the trip.
