We have never been there, but we cruise a lot, and there are a LOT of Zimbwabians and Zambians and South Africans now in the food service area, and they are FABULOUS!!! FRIENDLY and COMPETENT and almost PERFECT ENGLISH!!

They are all so good, we tip even the ones that don't wait on us....they are just FRIENDLY and NICE TO US!!

A gal from Zambia said she learned English by reading THE HARDY BOYS books!! LOL!!

ZIMBABWE was producing enough food that they EXPORTED over 65% to surrounding African countries.

THEN, THE “Leaders” went after the Dutch farmers who had built up those farms for years.

They urged the unskilled workers to rise up-—KILL the farmers-—and take over the land.

A 7 year old could have predicted the results.

NOW-—ZIMBABWE IMPORTS OVER 93% of the food needs of that country EVERY DAY.

I HAVE ZERO SYMPATHY

You’re not alone in lacking any sympathy for that place

Same thing is happening all over the world today. Take away the land from the farmers, so they can control the food supply.

I guess Mugabe’s cronies still own the farms.

NY Times had a front-page story on Namibia doing this. August 29. As usual with the Times, it has compete details of the numbers that will be sacrificed.

After reading the comments, some of them even humorous, I remember that it is a big problem to solve with so many of us having plenty to eat.

It’s a world problem, and it will be solved one way or another.

When I was in 7th grade, we had a visitor to our social studies class from the nearby United Nations. He warned us that population had to be controlled. Do you realize, he told us, that there are over 2 billion people on this planet?

And the Brits screwed over Ian Smith.

So did Jimmy Carter and Andrew Young

they undermined the "unity" transitional government of black Rhodesians under Bishop Muzorewa which had the support of Ian Smith and white Rhodesians. Carter and Young rejected a government without Robert Mugabe's marxist ZANU, who continued their guerrilla war until the could control the outcome of national voting. Once in control, Mugabe went on to slaughter his political opponents from the Ndebele minority.

In sum, they screwed over everyone in Rhodesia and Zimbabwe

Just as we should have supported Chief Buthelezi in South Africa, instead of Mandela.

Easy to do - merely build a fence made from nonobtainium.
