In Walmart the other day I noticed they had an instant picture version of the Polaroid. They also conventional film cameras too.

Cell phone coverage in our area can be spotty. We have a couple of base units and mobile units in the vehicles.
It also makes it handy when you are traveling in several vehicles to be able to coordinate stops and such.

Sadly, no. Newfangled cell. I did have a Polaroid Swinger in college, though.

I only vaguely remember things from the 70s since I was born in that decade but the muscle cars from that era were so sleek and sexy in comparison to what we’ve seen since....the Plymouth Superbird, the AMC Javelin, the Mach I Mustang, the Corvette Stingray, the Plymouth Barracuda, etc.

My kids had those in the 90’s. I probably still have the slinkies in a box, and the hula hoops are just tucked in somewhere, I’m sure of it. ;)

Dead.
Senator Ervin was an old-time Democrat - loved the Constitution - but he was not a liberal.

That was the last decade of copper pennies (ended ~ halfway through 82).
They’re finally getting to the level in circulation where finding them is akin to getting wheats in the 70’s or indians in the 40’s/50’s...
I can still get nice wheats and an occasional indian metal detecting. The copper coated zinc trash they make now is detroyed after a few years in most ground though and recovering them (in job lots unfortunately) they’re holed and fragmentary.

Cars that you could work on
Winkies (’Burgh area fast food chain)
Forbes Field
Winning Pirates teams
Pickup baseball and football games
Prank phone calls (killed by caller ID)
“Be home when the street lights come on”
Good music (though it technically still exists)
Miles long bike hikes with no helmet or knee pads (or cell phones)- just a few quarters in case you had to find a phone booth
My mom’s apple pie (she took the secret to her grave)
Penny candy and nickel pickles
Mission Orange Soda
Free movie night at the playground
Charles Chips (technically still available at Cracker Barrel, don’t know if they are still the same)

Yes, and Jeeps are still used in Beetle Bailey, I believe. Comic Strips are the most conservative of media.

No. They aren't. My parents had a Charles Chips route. The key with Charles Chips was the myriad of types before it was a thing. Most stores had regular and maybe BBQ. Charles had those and Garlic, Sour Cream/Onion, Hickory and No Salt. Of course there was also five gallon tubs, pretzels, cookies, caramel corn, peanut brittle. Yum.
The company sourced the potatoes from Idaho, and a bad crop meant small, green potatoes and higher prices. That got a lot of people to cancel. The company was based in Pennsylvania, and considered Bachman chips/pretzels as the competition.
I was the naughty kid who snuck into the step van and took one chip from dozens of cans. That was pre-Tylenol scare. Very high trust society.

Best cereal ever! Pebbles was originally based on the rice formula, but they overpowered it with fruit flavor and chocolate, instead of a delicate honey flavor. My six year old palate could tell the superiority. Eventually, Post changed the texture of the cereal as well, and it now has no resemblance in anyway to its progenitor. I was faithful to departed Quake as well, as I liked the character, and despised Quisp.

Ok. I went through this entire thread.
My mom had a drive in burger place, called the “Burger Basket” no less in TN.
To much for a teen like me.
My favorite was one Dean Martin. Celebrity Roasts I would watch with my father. I will share. Gator you are my age.
