My personal favorite was him in Filed of Dreams. But many many roles to choose from.

Though not the starring role, I like him in Patriot Games.

“Filed of Dreams”. Is that the one about the guy landing the best clerk job in the world? J/K!
RIP to Mr. Jones who saved us from possibly having to listen to David Prowse as the voice of Darth Vader (David was the guy in the costume though).

And he was also mind blowing as King Mufasa in “The Lion King” (both versions).

I have wished to have a voice like James Earl Jones. His voice made Darth Vader a bad*ss villain.

As someone who is deaf. I could never read Darth Vader’s lips.

I remember him as Terrance Mann in Field of Dreams too. I thought he was great in that movie.
I know he did well in other areas as well. Never heard a bad word about him.
Rest in peace Mr. Jones.

He was great as Darth Vader...he was good in The Hunt For Red October but he was absolutely outstanding in Cry,The Beloved Country (as was Richard Harris).

I saw him in a live play in MN as Othello.

Perhaps the last surviving cast member from “Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb” (1964).
